explore architecture

We tend to lean more contemporary on our architectural faves, but we had to include North Junior High since it’s such an iconic building, Napoleon Dynamite attended and it’s right next to our favorite close-by commercial district—Hyde Park. JUMP is a wacky, fun building that’s a blast to wander through and the Boise State Fine Arts building is one of the most beautiful, recent additions to the Boise architectural landscape.

explore eating and drinking

A lot of people come to Idaho for the scenery, but did you know our food and dining scene is TOPS? Stroll down 8th street and grab a table at the Little Pearl Oyster Bar, featuring delicious delicacies from the sea that will totally blow your mind. Neckar is a favorite coffee shop with all the right vibes and you seriously cannot go wrong with Certified breakfast sandwich a few blocks away in Hyde Park. We have a bajillion more recommendations in our full guide.

explore the great outdoors

Amazing landscapes are one of Boise’s greatest draws. It’s easy to get into nature without leaving the city along the expansive Boise greenbelt. The Birds of Prey Center is the pre-eminent center for raptor research in the world and gives visitors an up close experience with these incredible animals. Other favorite activities include the many hikes in the surrounding foothills. Our favorite access point is at Camel’s Back Park. It’s easy to start, but we can’t promise you won’t break a sweat.
